Paul Jerry P. Compere

Paul Jerry Compere brings more than 25 years of performing and producing excellence to every project. At 14, he won first place in the European International Piano Competition, competing against 384 pianists.

An alumnus of Westminster Choir College of Rider University (Princeton, NJ), Paul earned a BA in Music Education with a principal study in piano performance and pedagogy. He served as a professor’s assistant to Richard Alston at Juilliard’s Gifted Young and Undergraduate Programs, refining a student-centered approach.

As an award-winning composer, Paul received the 2021 Peabody Award for his film score “Cops and Robbers,” now on Netflix. His performance credits span Lauryn Hill, Wyclef Jean, Wayman Tisdale, Ginuwine, Tye Tribbett, and more. He has served as musical director for “The Music of Sam Cooke starring Bradd Marquis.”

Based in the New York/NJ area, Paul brings artistry, pedagogy, and industry insight to every engagement—whether a senior program, film score, or private lesson.
